Notable Cases
Marques v. Delmar International
Among his numerous trial wins, the case of Marques v. Delmar International is an important and frequently cited case in which Alex obtained a noteworthy 4-month severance package for an employee with 7 months of service.
Visaggio v. Joynt-Dent Inc.
In Visaggio v. Joynt-Dent Inc., Alex secured 24 months’ pay in lieu of notice for a dental hygienist who, after 33 years at a dental office, was offered a job with restrictive and unfavourable terms.
Education
Alex is a graduate of the B.C.L/LL.B. national law program at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec.
During his studies, Alex held internships with the Court of Quebec, the McGill University Legal Information Clinic and at a prominent, international law firm in London, United Kingdom.

University of Ottawa Employment Law Clinic
Alex is also a volunteer Lawyer / Supervisor for the University of Ottawa Employment Law Clinic, which provides pro bono employment law advice to disadvantaged Ontarians.
Abbeyfield Houses Society of Ottawa
Alex was proud to serve as Director of HR for the Abbeyfield Houses Society of Ottawa, a non-profit organization that provides low cost housing for seniors. Abbeyfield celebrated their 25th anniversary, and operates 1,100 houses around the world, with 25 in Canada.

CCLA Civil Litigation Conference
On November 26, 2020, the County of Carleton Law Association held its annual civil litigation conference virtually. Lucifero represented Samfiru Tumarkin LLP at the event and spoke about simplified procedures as well as the implications of Waksdale.
Ottawa CPA Ontario Association
In November 2019, Lucifero represented Samfiru Tumarkin LLP during an employment law discussion with the Ottawa CPA Ontario Association. The organization supports over 8,000 CPA members in a number of cities, including Ottawa, Gloucester, Kanata, Manotick, Nepean, Orleans and Stittsville.
Ottawa Dental Hygienists Society Seminar
In March 2018, Alex represented Samfiru Tumarkin LLP at the Ottawa Dental Hygienists Society seminar. During the event, he discussed a variety of employment law topics, including employment contracts, terminations, discipline, as well as working as a consultant or independent contractor.
