Lightspeed cuts 7% of staff in second round of layoffs in 2024
What’s happening at Lightspeed?
Montréal-based e-commerce and point-of-sale provider Lightspeed Commerce is laying off approximately 200 employees, marking its second round of layoffs this year. These cuts represent about 7% of its workforce, which numbered roughly 3,000 as of March 31, 2024.
The layoffs are part of a broader restructuring aimed at aligning resources with strategic business priorities. Lightspeed stated that the affected roles are outside of its focus areas: North American retail (including Golf and NuOrder platforms) and European hospitality.
