Is Uber Cutting More Jobs in 2026?
Yes — Uber announced on July 23, 2026 that it’s:
- Laying off approximately 10% of its community operations (customer service) team.
- Asking remote staff to relocate to a city with an Uber office and work there 3 days a week.
A spokesperson for the ride-hailing giant told reporters that the restructuring will allow the company to “simplify operations, strengthen in-person collaboration, and continue to embrace AI.”

It remains unclear if any Canadian employees at Uber are being let go.
According to LinkedIn, the company currently has more than 3,100 workers in the country.
