Show Notes
- Forced to return to the office: Many employees have been working remotely due to the pandemic. Employers are now requesting employees consider a hybrid work arrangement or a return to the office. Employers are within their rights to request employees return to the office. Employees that refuse a request could be seen as abandoning their job or resigning.
- Entitlements for seasonal workers: Employees that are considered seasonal would still be owed severance pay if they are terminated by their employers. Severance calculations would be based on an employee’s age, position and length of service. Entitlements are calculated for a seasonal worker just as a full-time salaried employee’s severance would be.
- Defining workplace harassment: Workplace harassment can be a broad definition and encompass many elements. Essentially, workplace harassment is conduct that is considered unwelcome by a co-worker, superior, etc. Employers have an obligation to investigate all complaints of harassment and resolve the situation.
