Public Services and Procurement Canada to Cut 700+ Jobs in 2026
PSPC Layoffs: The Latest
Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) has sent out layoff notices to staff — aiming to axe approximately 761 positions in 2026.
Since April 1, 2025, the federal agency has slashed 329 jobs, including 29 executives.
“As we move through these changes, we remain committed to supporting our employees,” Arianne Reza, PSPC’s deputy minister, said in an internal email obtained by the Ottawa Citizen.
The department isn’t alone. Several federal agencies, including Health Canada, Agri-Food Canada, Shared Services Canada, and Statistics Canada, are also making deep workforce cuts this year.
