Show Notes
- Chris discusses Chapman’s vaccine policy and pay raise: Chapman’s ice cream came under fire for offering a pay incentive to employees who were choosing to be vaccinated. It is important to take into account policies that could be discriminatory as some employees might have had valid exemptions for vaccination.
- An employee wonders if they can ask for a raise due to an increased workload: Employers are not permitted to make significant changes to the terms of an employee’s job, such as a dramatic increase in workload. Employees have the right to refuse a major change to their job and can treat a big change as constructive dismissal.
- How employees should respond after they have been fired: It is important for employees to try and remain calm after they have been terminated and try and keep communication with the employer amicable, keep a record of all contracts and documented communication with the employer.
