- Applied and rejected for LTD after a serious car accident: Claimants are often denied disabilty benefits on the basis of insufficient medical documentation. Claimants should not be dissuaded from pursuing their benefits if they have the support of a treating medical team. It is important to ensure all medical reports are detailed and up-to-date. Insurance claims after an accident can be varied due to an injury.
- No longer able to work after a car accident: After a car accident occurs, those involved must contact their insurance companies. Section B benefits can be accessed if an injury occurs that is considered serious. Claimants can also pursue benefits through the Motor Vehicle Accident Claims Program in Alberta if the at-fault driver does not have insurance.
- Claim for pain and suffering: Individuals are entitled to benefits and compensation if they were not responsible for an accident and sustained serious injuries. In some cases, an investigation will have to be conducted in order to determine which driver is responsible. While accidents can be complicated and multiple insurance companies could be involved, it is vital to speak to a car accident lawyer as soon as possible.
- Suffered a concussion after collision in the parking lot: It is a common misconception that all incidents that occur in a parking lot cannot be pursued for a legal claim. For serious injuries, such as brain injuries or a concussion, a claim should be made as soon as possible. A police report and immediate medical treatment should also not be delayed.
