According to the company’s website, its GroMoreGood initiative plans to introduce approximately 10 million children to gardening by 2023.
Recent layoffs at ScottsMiracle-Gro
Hawthorne Gardening Company, a subsidiary of ScottsMiracle-Gro, recently reported two rounds of layoffs.
- May 2022: Hawthorne Gardening Company is cutting 42 jobs at its Vancouver, Washington facility as it outsources its carbon filter manufacturing.
- January 2022: Hawthorne Gardening Company is set to lay off 150 employees at one of its facilities in Washington.
- May 2018: ScottsMiracle-Gro is expecting $15 million in restructuring charges after spending approximately $1 billion in acquisitions to grow Hawthorne Gardening Company.
Severance pay for ScottsMiracle-Gro employees
In Canada, employees at ScottsMiracle-Gro can get up to 24 months of severance pay when they are fired or laid off from their job. This includes individuals working full-time, part-time, and hourly in Ontario, Alberta, or B.C.
