What’s going on at Panasonic?

Panasonic Holdings (Panasonic) is planning to eliminate approximately 10,000 roles as part of a nearly $900-million restructuring.

The electronics giant said in a statement on May 9 that half of the job cuts will affect its Japanese workforce.

In addition to scaling back its staffing levels, Panasonic announced in February that it was reviewing the operational efficiency of its group companies, particularly in sales and back-office divisions.
