4 people dead after trucks, SUV collide on Hwy. 3 near Taber
Incident details
Four people are dead following a serious three-vehicle collision on Highway 3, east of Taber.
- Alberta RCMP said a Dodge Ram hauling a trailer, a GMC truck, and a Ford Escape collided on Highway 3 between Range Road 143 and 144 around 6 p.m. MT on Dec. 10.
- The occupants of the Dodge Ram, an 84-year-old man and an 86-year-old woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.
- The driver of the GMC truck, a 38-year-old man, was also pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old man who was a passenger in the truck was pronounced dead at hospital.
- The driver of the Ford Escape, a man whose age wasn’t disclosed, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
- This stretch of Highway 3 was closed for several hours.
Investigation updates
The cause of the fatal collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
