Fatal crash in west Edmonton believed to be speed-related

According to the Edmonton Police Service (EPS), the Mazda, which was traveling southbound, crossed into the northbound lanes, colliding with the Ford SUV that was heading southbound.

• The crash resulted in the death of a male passenger in his 20s who was riding in the Mazda. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
• The 22-year-old driver of the Mazda sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.
