Rogers Acquiring Outstanding MLSE Stake for $4.35B: Employee Rights
What’s Happening at Rogers?
Rogers Communications is looking to become the sole owner of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE).
The Canadian telecom giant announced on July 6, 2026 that it has signed an agreement to acquire Kilmer Sports’ 25% stake for approximately $4.35 billion.
“Full ownership of MLSE brings together Canada’s premier communications company with Canada’s premier sports and entertainment organization,” CEO Tony Staffieri said in a news release.
“It gives us even more opportunity to invest in championship-calibre teams, create unique experiences for customers and fans, and unlock long-term value for shareholders.”
Potential Impact on MSLE Staff
Once Rogers has full ownership of MLSE, the company might decide to scale back the size of certain departments.
