6-Year-Old Dead, Several Hospitalized After Crash Southwest of Barrie
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal crash involving a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle in Mulmur — a community southwest of Barrie — on April 19, 2026.
What Happened?
- The incident reportedly took place at the intersection of County Road 17 and County Road 19 around 1:30pm ET on April 19.
- According to OPP, a 6-year-old boy was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, the child succumbed to their injuries and was later pronounced dead.
- 3 people have been taken to hospital with unknown injuries. 2 others are in life-threatening condition at a Toronto-area trauma centre.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. It’s unclear if charges are pending.
