Michael Gerhard is a Senior Associate with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Long-Term Disability and Personal Injury Law practice group.
He uses his knowledge of Canada’s complex legal system to the advantage of his clients, and the disadvantage of insurance companies who deny long-term disability policies in Ontario.
Michael’s detailed and compassionate approach results in reduced stress for his clients. He has successfully represented clients before the Ontario Court of Appeal, Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Municipal Board and the Ontario Small Claims Court. Read reviews about Michael.
Before joining Samfiru Tumarkin’s disability and personal injury practice group, Michael summered at a prominent insurance defence firm and went on to article at a leading personal injury firm.
In his free time, Michael enjoys travelling, creative writing, and going to concerts.

2017
Education
Prior to attending law school, Michael earned an Honours B.A. from McMaster University, majoring in philosophy and completing a senior thesis on constitutionalism. He then graduated from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law in 2013 and was called to the bar in 2014.
Michael has received numerous prestigious awards in the area of legal research and teaches a paralegal class on the subject at Seneca College.
