Melanie Vincent is an Ontario employment lawyer and Associate with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment Law practice group.
Working through the firm’s employment law services in Toronto and Ottawa, Melanie assists employees and employers on a broad range of employment matters, including:
- Terminations for cause and without cause
- Wrongful dismissals
- Constructive dismissals
- Severance pay negotiations
- Temporary layoffs
- Workplace harassment and discrimination
- Human rights issues
- Employment contract review and drafting
- Independent contractor rights
- Workplace reprisals
Prior to becoming an Associate at the firm, she assisted the team as an Articling Student. Melanie is passionate about empowering individuals facing workplace injustices.
Outside of the office, she enjoys overly competitive game nights, live music, and working out.
Education
Melanie obtained her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Toronto. Prior to law school, she completed an undergraduate degree in Global Political Economy at the University of Manitoba.
At graduation, she was awarded the program medal for highest standing in the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree program.
