Dan Balkaran is an employment lawyer in B.C. and a Senior Associate with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment Law practice group.
Working through the firm’s Vancouver office, Dan specializes in maximizing employee rights.
His areas of practice include:

- Terminations for cause and without cause
- Severance pay and severance package negotiations

Prior to practicing law, Dan had a successful career managing dynamic Information Technology call centres for major national and international companies. Consequently, he has insider experience with the business logic underpinning company decisions to terminate and compensate employees.
He’s hired, terminated, promoted, and assessed the salaries of hundreds of employees. Dan leverages this experience to craft powerful legal solutions for his clients.
Dan has represented clients at all levels of court in BC and is a member of the British Columbia Trial Lawyers Association.

Dan obtained his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 2015 and was called to the BC bar in 2016.
He articled at a full-service Vancouver law firm and then practiced for several years at a plaintiff-side boutique litigation firm.
