What is a workplace human rights violation?

In Canada, a human rights violation occurs when someone is unfairly treated or discriminated against based on protected characteristics like race, gender, disability, religion, or sexual orientation. What happens if my human rights are violated?

Employees who experience discrimination or any form of human rights violation should report it to their superiors or HR department. Employers are obligated to investigate and take appropriate measures to address the situation and protect the victim.

However, it may reach a point where your work environment becomes so intolerable due to discrimination, harassment, or other adverse conditions that you feel compelled to leave your job.
