“Simpler, Leaner, and Scrappier Business”: Verizon Slashing 15,000 Jobs
What’s Happening at Verizon?
Verizon is reportedly preparing to conduct its largest-ever round of job cuts: eliminating approximately 15,000 positions.
A person familiar with the matter told Reuters that the workforce reduction — expected to heavily impact non-union management — is set to take place as soon as Nov. 17.
“We will be a simpler, leaner, and scrappier business,” CEO Dan Schulman said after taking the reins of the telecommunications giant last month.
Sources claim Verizon also plans to transition around 180 corporate-owned retail stores into franchised operations.
