u-haul refusing to hire smokers

U-haul is refusing to hire smokers in 21 U.S. states. This policy change takes effect on February 1, 2020.

While some deem the practice to be discriminatory, many others believe that it is an appropriate decision by the transportation rental company. U-Haul claims that the decision was made to establish a healthier culture within the workplace. Critics argue that the company is merely trying to cut costs associated with its employee benefits plan.
