Trump’s tariffs could affect more than 20K automotive jobs in Windsor

What’s happening?
Windsor’s auto industry could see significant job losses now that U.S. President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs on Canadian goods are in effect.
Unifor has issued a warning — claiming that more than 20,000 roles could directly be at risk as the trade war picks up.
“We’ve been preparing for it for a long time. But now that it’s here, it certainly is a rough and scary day for Canada,” James Stewart, president of Unifor Local 444, told CTV News.
Windsor is one of Canada’s most trade-dependent cities, with reportedly $9.8 billion in motor vehicle exports and another $4.5 billion in auto parts.
