Temporary Layoffs, CN Rail Blockades & Employment Law – Global News
Via Rail is moving to temporarily lay off nearly 1,000 people. On Tuesday, CN rail announced that it would temporarily lay off approximately 450 of its employees due to train cancellations and suspensions.
Both layoffs are a result of the blockades by protesters who oppose a British Columbia LNG pipeline.
