Toronto’s Patrician Grill Closing After 73 Years: Employee Rights
Toronto’s Patrician Grill, a King East landmark, is set to close its doors after 73 years.
Founded in 1953, the diner was taken over by the late Louie and Helen Papas. The couple immigrated to Canada from Greece in the early 1960s.
“We plan on taking the sign down, and with us, when we finally leave,” Mary Papas told blogTO.
“I wish my parents [Louie and Helen] were here to experience the reaction of everyone.”
The diner will remain open to the public until May 9, 2026.
