What’s Happening at Nestlé?

Nestlé plans to scale back its staffing levels over the next 2 years as it continues to look for ways to cut costs.

The Swiss food giant announced on Oct. 16 that it will eliminate approximately 12,000 white-collar positions and around 4,000 jobs as part of ongoing productivity initiatives in its manufacturing and supply chain.

“The world is changing, and Nestlé needs to change faster,” CEO Philipp Navratil said in a statement.

According to reports, the workforce reduction is expected to save the company more than $1.2 billion by the end of 2026.

Impact on Canadian Staff

It remains unclear how many Canadian employees are affected by the latest workforce reduction at Nestlé.

The company currently has more than 1,900 workers in the country, according to LinkedIn.
