What’s Happening at Meta?
Meta is slashing approximately 10% of its Reality Labs workforce, or around 1,000 jobs, as the tech giant shifts its focus from virtual reality and metaverse products to artificial intelligence (AI) wearables and phone features.
According to reports, notices began going out to affected staff on Jan. 13, 2026.
