Did The Immigrant Education Society Cut Jobs in 2026?

Yes — The Immigrant Education Society eliminated more than 40 positions in March 2026.

“It’s a very, very big cut,” Sally Zhao, president and CEO of the Calgary-based organization, told the Calgary Herald.

“The resources are so limited, and we are really struggling…We really hope some potential donors can step forward.”

The latest workforce reduction at The Immigrant Education Society mostly affects language instructors — adding pressure to a waitlist for services that already exceeds 2,000 people.
