Edmonton Police seek Good Samaritan and witnesses after fatal fiery crash

Edmonton police are searching for a Good Samaritan and potential witnesses following a fatal crash that occurred in northwest Edmonton. The collision took place on October 3, around 1:40 a.m., when a white 1997 Dodge Dakota traveling north on 149 Street near Yellowhead Trail lost control.
- The vehicle crossed a grassy median and struck a cement barricade, which caused it to catch fire.
- A bystander stopped and assisted the driver before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.
- When emergency responders arrived at the scene, firefighters were actively working to extinguish the blaze.
- Paramedics treated the 19-year-old driver, who was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Upon further investigation, police discovered a second individual had been in the vehicle at the time of the crash. On October 4, authorities confirmed the remains of a 19-year-old man were found inside the severely burned vehicle.
