Conestoga College Cutting More Jobs, Programs as Fall 2025 Semester Begins

What’s Happening?
Conestoga College has cut several programs just days before the start of the 2025 fall semester — affecting more than a dozen employees.
“[Students] were told [during orientation], ‘Guess what? Your program’s been suspended. We will try to find you something else,'” Leopold Koff, president of OPSEU Local 237, told CityNews.
“They don’t have an answer for these students right now who have paid their tuition, they’ve arrived and are ready to go, and they’re trying to find them something that might be a next option or best fit.”
According to reports, 11 full-time faculty members and 2 counsellors were informed that they’re being let go.
