B.C employment lawyer on wrongful dismissal suit and vaccine policies

The Black Press Media logo.

A woman from Maple Ridge B.C has filed a wrongful dismissal suit against her former employer as she was terminated for refusing to be vaccinated. Andrew Horvath was employed but working remotely and upon termination did not receive severance as she was fired for cause.

A B.C. employment lawyer at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP represents Horvath and spoke with Black Press Media about her client’s claim for severance.

The basis of Horvath’s claim is centred around the fact that her company was and could continue to operate safely without a vaccine requirement for staff.  The claim goes on to explain that the B.C government has not imposed a vaccine mandate for its population.
