Amazon reportedly planning to slash 14,000 managerial jobs in 2025

Amazon is reportedly planning to eliminate around 14,000 managerial positions in 2025 as its cost-cutting push intensifies.

According to news outlets, including Financial Express, the workforce reduction is expected to save the e-commerce giant between $2.1 billion and $3.6 billion annually.

The update comes months after reports surfaced in October that Amazon was thinking about slashing its managerial workforce.

Impact on Canadian staff

It’s unclear if any Canadians in managerial roles at Amazon have been let go.

According to LinkedIn, the company employs more than 15,800 people in the country.

Other big names, including Seneca, Morgan Stanley, Prepac, MPG Canada, HPE, Wayfair, MLSE, Disney, Autodesk, JPMorgan, Chevron, Vale, Canada Post, Workday, ADM, Meta, and Shopify, have also pulled out the axe.
