Show Notes
- Next steps after an accident: It is important for individuals to understand that regardless of fault, they are entitled to benefits from their insurer or from the individual responsible after an accident has occurred.
- Insurance coverage and rental vehicles: Most rental companies have insurance that allows individuals to access accident benefits coverage. These benefits can include income replacement benefits, medical rehabilitation benefits as well as potential attendant care benefits. Individuals that have been injured in a car accident due to the fault of another driver, will also be entitled to benefits from the person responsible.
- Claim if at fault in a car accident: Individuals considered at fault in an accident are still entitled to accident benefits through their own insurance company. For passengers who were injured and do not have insurance, the driver’s insurance should provide accident benefits and coverage.
