Episode Notes
What should I do if I am still off work on a temporary layoff?
You have a few options at your disposal if you are sitting at home on a temporary layoff. You can continue to wait until your employer potentially calls you back to work. You can also treat the layoff as a consctructive dismissal, and get your severance package with help from an employment lawyer.

Can my employer significantly increase my workload if I’m an independent contractor?
Your employer does not have the automatic right to increase your workload without permission. They may be able to change the terms of your job if your employment contract allows for it. You may be able to refuse the change, and leave the company with full severance through a constructive dismissal.
Often times, employees misclassify employees as independent contractors. In most cases, contractors are actually employees, and entitled to benefits, vacation pay, and severance upon termination.
