Ex-City of Windsor Planner Files $2.8M Lawsuit for “Humiliating” Termination
Is the City of Windsor Being Sued?
Yes. Thom Hunt, the City of Windsor’s former executive director of planning and development, has launched a $2.8-million wrongful dismissal lawsuit.
Hunt alleges that he was forced to endure a “humiliating” termination process, which lasted more than a year.
However, the city wants the lawsuit thrown out — claiming in its recently filed statement of defence that it acted in a “lawful, reasonable, and good faith manner” regarding its firing of Hunt.
The latest developments come a few months after the City of Windsor settled a wrongful dismissal claim involving its former lead engineer.
