What’s Happening at the CRA?

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) continues to adjust its workforce — reportedly issuing layoff notices to approximately 479 workers on March 31, 2026.

“Throughout [the workforce adjustment] process, the CRA remains dedicated to minimizing impacts on employees and to protecting services that Canadians depend on,” spokesperson Sylvie Branch told the Ottawa Citizen.

Branch added that the job cuts — currently expected to affect 210 positions — are “mainly linked to the winding down of the Federal Fuel Charge.”
