Child, 10, Dead Following Head-On OPP Cruiser Crash on Hwy. 7 Near Perth

A 10-year-old child is dead after a pickup truck and an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) cruiser collided head-on near Perth on Dec. 13, 2025.

What Happened?

• The incident took place on Highway 7, between Drummond School Road and Drummond Concession 7, just before 4:30pm ET on Dec. 13.
• OPP said the pickup truck collided with one of their cruisers. The child, one of the 3 occupants in the pickup truck, succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead on Dec. 14.
• The 2 other occupants of the pickup truck and the OPP officer are being treated for serious injuries.

Investigation Updates

The cause of the fatal head-on collision remains under investigation.
