Mohawk College Offering Buyouts to Select Staff Until February 2026
What’s Happening at Mohawk College?
After slashing hundreds of jobs last year, Mohawk College is looking to trim its headcount further — offering a “voluntary exit option” to select full-time staff.
“We are in the initial planning stages for the next budget and [the buyouts are] part of that process, which won’t be finalized until well into the new year,” spokesperson Sean Coffey told CBC Hamilton.
Coffey added that the buyout applications — open to certain full-time administrative, faculty, and support staff — will remain available until the end of January 2026.
Non-unionized employees at Mohawk College shouldn’t accept a voluntary severance package before speaking with our firm. In some cases, workers could be owed far more compensation if they’re fired or let go involuntarily.
