►02:07 – The Week That Was: We received a call from a woman who was very concerned about her LTD. She has a 5-year-old son who is asthmatic and is very concerned about the pandemic. She was cleared to return to work just before the COVID-19 situation started. Her anxiety and mental health have been seriously impacted by the situation. Her doctor has told her that the changes to her mental health have disabled her from working. The insurer disagrees.
► 05:05 – Phone Call from the Disability Law Show – “My daughter is going through this. She’s been there for 15 years. Unfortunately, for the last couple of years, she has been off on LTD. They are saying ‘we want the latest updated medical from you. If your medical comes back and says it doesn’t look like you will be returning to work for a while they will fire you immediately’. They’ve already laid out their severance. They’re only offering the minimum ESA which is 1 week per year and they’re offering 15.”

►18:00 – If you can’t get treatments because your doctor or clinic is dealing with the Corona Virus Pandemic, you should NOT be cut off LTD.

I am doing better, my doctor has okayed me to go back and then COVID happened. They wouldn’t want me to go back because of the heart issues too and I work with seniors. I’m just wondering if the long-term disability people are duty-bound to keep paying me because of the situation with my heart?”
