• Pedestrian involved in collision suffers severe injury: In the event of a serious injury, some individuals are not able to work for a long period of time. Accident benefits for individuals can cover rehabilitation, as well as possible income loss. There are other options available for individuals who have been injured through the fault of another driver. Injured individuals have up to two years after the date of the accident to pursue benefits from the at-fault driver’s insurance company.
• Concussion after a car accident: The minor injury guideline ensures injured individuals are entitled to $3500 in medical and rehabilitation benefits. Individuals that have incurred injuries that are not considered minor, such as a brain or head injury, could be entitled to $65,000 for up to a maximum of 5 years.
• Slip and fall accident due to pothole: In the event of a serious slip and fall accident, it is important to document all elements of the accident. Injured individuals should ensure there is visual documentation of the area if it is public property. Proper documentation ensures the at-fault individual will have to respond to a claim and provide necessary benefits.
