Experience
Teilen Celentano is an Ontario employment lawyer and Associate with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment Law practice group.
Relying on his tenacity, knowledge of the law, and background in accounting, Teilen provides purposeful advocacy and practical advice for his clients.
Working through the firm’s Toronto and Ottawa offices, he represents both employees and employers across the province in all areas of employment law, including:
- Wrongful dismissals
- Constructive dismissals
- Severance pay negotiations
- Dismissals for cause and without cause in Ontario
- Workplace harassment and sexual harassment
- Discrimination at work
- Human rights violations
- Temporary layoffs
- Employment contract negotiations
- Cases of employee misclassification
Teilen has spent the majority of his legal career with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP — having both articled and summered with the firm prior to becoming an Associate.
Outside of work, he enjoys attending sporting events, cooking, and playing golf.

Education
Teilen attended law school at the University of Ottawa, where he graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree. A focus on various dispute resolution mechanisms, including pre-litigation negotiation, mediation and arbitration earned him an option in Dispute Resolution and Professionalism. During law school, Teilen was also a member of the University’s lacrosse team, where he earned Academic All-Canadian honours.
Teilen graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at the University of the District of Columbia in Washington, DC. During university, Teilen was a member and captain of the University’s varsity lacrosse team. Teilen was also named to the University’s Dean’s List and the East Coast Conference’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
