Spencer Sloane is a B.C. employment lawyer and an Associate with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment Law practice group, serving clients across British Columbia.

Working through the firm’s Vancouver office, Spencer provides support on a broad range of employment matters, including:

• Wrongful dismissals
• Constructive dismissals
• Dismissals for cause and without cause
• Severance pay negotiations and packages
• Employee misclassification
• Workplace harassment and sexual harassment
• Discrimination at work
• Human rights issues
• Employment contract review and drafting
• Temporary layoff issues

Prior to joining Samfiru Tumarkin LLP, he spent several years at a plaintiff-side boutique litigation firm in Vancouver.

Spencer has appeared at all levels of court in the province and represented clients in various administrative tribunals, including the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, the Employment Standards Branch, the B.C. Labour Board, the Social Security Tribunal, and WorkSafeBC.

Spencer also worked at Engineers and Geoscientists in B.C. — gaining intricate knowledge of the workings of administrative tribunals and issues arising from administrative proceedings.

Outside of the office, he enjoys playing guitar, snowboarding, and rock climbing — completing his first ascent of the iconic Chief.
