Jorge Pineda is an Ontario employment lawyer and Associate with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment practice group.

Working through the firm’s employment law services in Toronto and Ottawa, Jorge regularly assists employees and employers across the province in all aspects of labour and employment law, including:

• Terminations for cause and without cause in Ontario
• Wrongful dismissals
• Constructive dismissals in Ontario
• Severance pay negotiations
• Temporary layoffs
• Workplace harassment and sexual harassment
• Discrimination at work
• Human rights issues
• Employment contract review and drafting
• Employee misclassification

Determined to secure favourable outcomes for his clients, he has run successful trials in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice as well as the Alberta Court of King’s Bench. He has also appeared before various tribunals, including the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and the Ontario Municipal Board.

Prior to joining Samfiru Tumarkin LLP, Jorge worked as in-house counsel for municipal departments and human resource departments — advising them on a variety of matters.
