Experience
James Parker is an Ontario employment lawyer and an Associate with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment practice group. Working through the firm’s Toronto and Ottawa offices, he regularly advises and represents employees and employers in all aspects of employment and labour law.
His practice areas include:
- Wrongful dismissals in Ontario
- Severance pay and severance package negotiation
- Fired for cause and without cause in Ontario
- Constructive dismissals
- Employment contract drafting and disputes
- Temporary layoffs in Ontario
- Employee misclassification
- Workplace harassment and sexual harassment

Prior to joining Samfiru Tumarkin LLP, James practiced for over four years at a boutique litigation firm in downtown Toronto and completed his articles at a major full-service Bay Street law firm.
In his spare time, James enjoys golfing, hiking, travel, and barbeque.
