George A. Leibbrandt is a Partner with Samfiru Tumarkin LLP’s Labour and Employment Law practice group. Working through the firm’s Toronto and Ottawa offices, he represents clients across Ontario.

With a practice focused on individuals, human resources and labour relations specialists, owners and management, George responds quickly and intelligently to all manner of issues that arise in the workplace. His client base is predominantly comprised of privately held and family-owned concerns ranging from sole proprietorships to large corporations. His clients are drawn from a broad spectrum of industries, including the retail automotive sector, homebuilding, manufacturing, information technology, fitness and health management, to name a few. George also has extensive experience advising and advocating on behalf of large unionized public sector clients, including school boards, colleges, hospitals, and nursing homes. He has represented clients before the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Information and Privacy Commission, and numerous boards of arbitration.

George is a former teacher and an excellent communicator. He is frequently invited to speak to business persons about the legal rights and obligations of employees and employers and has developed a reputation for being able to express complex legal issues in straightforward, manageable terms.
