⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I called Samfiru Tumarkin Employment Lawyers a couple of days after being “dismissed without cause” I know you can get fired without cause but they have to pay you fairly. I contacted the company and within a day I was contacted by the firm and they discussed my situation with me and felt that I had a strong case to proceed with action against my employer. I was represented by Jon Pinkus. Jon explained my case in great detail and kept me posted all along the way and attended virtual mediation as well. After that it was decided to proceed to court, but the company made a settlement offer that we accepted (after a little back and forth negotiation handled by Jon). It didn’t happen over night but it doesn’t usually. I was really happy with the treatment I received and the settlement I eventually agreed to. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ When my company (a very large multi-national corporation) terminated me, they offered my slightly more than the minimum legal requirements with a threat that if I didn’t accept their offer, they would simply remove the offer and reduce my severance to the bare minimum. Given my age (64) and the fact that I had an impeccable work record, I found this completely insulting and shocking. I contacted a few legal firms, explained my situation, but chose Samfiru Tumarkin based upon the no-charge 30 minute interview I had with Jon Pinkus of their firm. Jon explained the labour laws and how he could get me more money – not through warm and fuzzy promises, but via a solid action plan. Throughout the process I found Jon to be extremely savy. In my opinion, he danced circles around my former employer’s legal team. At the same time he was completely honest and worked to keep my legal costs as low as possible. In the end I ended up with a settlement that was nearly THREE TIMES their original offer – after legal costs. Going through a process such as this can cause anxiety because what I found is that large corporations tend to throw their weight around to intimidate you.
