How Much Severance Could A Trade Desk Employee Receive?

There is no single Trade Desk severance formula in Canada.

What you are owed can depend on factors such as your age, length of service, position, compensation and employment contract. The minimum amount required by employment standards law is not necessarily your full severance.

For many non-unionized employees, full severance can be substantially higher and can reach as much as 24 months of compensation.

For some Trade Desk employees, bonuses, benefits, RSUs or other compensation can also affect the value of the package. You don’t need to calculate all of that yourself — the important thing is to have the entire offer reviewed.

In our experience, most terminated employees we speak with are owed more than they were initially offered. That’s something we’ve seen across thousands of workplaces in Canada.

What Should You Do Before Signing A Trade Desk Severance Package?

Don’t sign your Trade Desk severance package until you know whether the offer is fair.

Get the offer in writing and have it reviewed before signing a release. You don’t have to understand every part of employment law or work out your severance yourself.

⚠️ Your employer’s deadline is not your legal deadline. A short deadline to sign a severance offer does not erase your rights. Once you sign a release, however, you can’t ask for more.

Is Getting More Severance From The Trade Desk Difficult?

Getting your Trade Desk severance package reviewed does not mean committing yourself to a long legal battle.

The first step is simply having the offer reviewed. We can tell you whether it appears fair, whether you could be owed more and what your options are.

Many severance matters can be resolved through negotiation without a trial. The process is often much more straightforward than employees expect.
