Trump to hit Canada with devastating duties on March 4

What’s going on?
Following a brief trade truce, U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that his administration will proceed with a 25 per cent tariff on all Canadian goods (10 per cent on energy), effective March 4.
Speaking to reporters at the White House on March 3, Trump said there was “no room left” to negotiate with Canada and Mexico.
“They’re all set. They go into effect tomorrow.”
The update comes just days after Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick claimed that both countries might be able to delay the trade action until April.
