How is Toronto Celebrating Canada Day 2026?
A variety of events are taking place across Toronto to celebrate Canada Day 2026, including:
- Live music & dance performances
- A citizenship ceremony
- Activities for children in Nathan Phillips Square
Starting at 10pm ET on July 1, 2026, the city’s fireworks display will take place at Ashbridges Bay Park.

Torontonians Urged to Drink Water, Keep Cool
With Environment Canada issuing an orange heat warning for Toronto and surrounding areas, the city is reminding residents to:
- Drink water often (don’t wait until you feel thirsty)
- Move to a cool public space if your living space is too hot (i.e. a cooling centre, community centre, library, or shaded park)
- Plan and schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day
A spokesperson for the city told multiple news outlets that pools, splash pads, and more than 500 “Cool Spaces” will be open on Canada Day.
