“This is a game-changing acquisition. Sleep Number has built an exceptional brand, driven by amazing people, meaningful comfort and innovation, and an unwavering commitment to improving customers’ lives through better quality of sleep,” Stewart Schaefer, CEO of Sleep Country, said in a news release on July 20, 2026.

“We look forward to welcoming the Sleep Number team, and working alongside them as we bring these two organizations together to deliver better sleep to all of our customers.”

Sleep Country claims the acquisition will make it the second-largest sleep retailer in the world — increasing its store total to around 800.
