What happened?
Ottawa and surrounding areas were hit with a major snowstorm on Dec. 23 — with some parts receiving as much as 15 centimetres (cm) of snow.
“I’ve been doing this job 18 years, and I’ve never seen anything like this,” Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Const. Michael Fathi told CBC News.
Officials said they responded to 27 collisions in the city overnight.
