“Slow Down and Move Over”: OPP Cruisers Rear-Ended on Hwy. 403 Near Woodstock
What Happened?
As Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to hundreds of collisions across the province following a blast of winter weather, 2 officers ended up in a crash on Highway 403 near Woodstock on Dec. 10, 2025.
According to officials, the cruisers belonging to the officers were rear-ended. The individuals were investigating an earlier collision in the westbound lanes of the highway near the exit to Highway 53.
“The roadways are snow and ice covered. You need to slow down, and when you see flashing lights, by law, you need to slow down and move over,” OPP Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said in a video on X (formerly Twitter).
“If you can’t move over safely, you have to reduce your speed…This is just common sense.”
Both officers were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
