What’s Happening at Ontario Power Generation?

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) has signed a deal — allowing the provincial utility to build a nuclear reactor in Port Hope, a municipality east of Toronto.

“This agreement is an important step forward as we build the world’s largest nuclear station, creating over 10,000 good-paying jobs and reliable power for up to 10 million homes,” Energy Minister Stephen Lecce said in a news release.

Locally, the facility is expected to add approximately 1,700 jobs.
